Cancer Illumination™ Imaging
Experience the next generation of intraoperative cancer visualization with the Synergy Vision™ imaging system, now cleared for use with CYTALUX® (pafolacianine) injection—an FDA-approved cancer imaging agent.
What Is Cancer Illumination Technology?
During this process, fluorescent agents bind to folate receptors that are overexpressed on lung and ovarian cancerous cells, causing tumors to "light up" using NIR during surgery.
Cancer Illumination imaging provides real-time visualization of cancerous lesions. Using targeted fluorescent agents and near-infrared (NIR) imaging, this unique technology allows surgeons to identify cancerous lesions in the lungs and ovaries, enabling a more complete resection.
Applications in Lung and Ovarian Cancer
Cancer Illumination imaging has proven especially valuable in thoracic and gynecologic oncology. It helps uncover lesions that may not be visible on preoperative imaging and assists in guiding more confident resections, even in anatomically challenging areas.

How Cancer Illumination Works

Applications in
Lung and Ovarian Cancer
Cancer Illumination imaging has proven especially valuable in thoracic and gynecologic oncology. It guides surgeons to the lesion location, helps uncover lesions that may not be visible on preoperative imaging, and can assist in determining the resection margin.
Proven Results
Cancer Illumination imaging is supported by clinical trials in both lung and ovarian cancer diagnoses. Surgical oncology studies show improvements in cancerous lesion detection, close margins, and more.2
